As every visit, Chapel Cottage is wonderful to arrive at and difficult to leave. We’ve had a splendid break, lots of great walks, a little tennis and many hours of games, chats, reading and relaxing. Thanks to the owners for sharing this sanctuary with those of us, who love it too!
Lovely stay. Beautiful surroundings, very peaceful. Would love to come back – very restful, spiritual place, beautiful location, will be sad to leave. Lovely time had by all.
Absolutely fantastic cottage with beautiful garden – perfect for many games of croquet, skittles, aerobics, cricket, volleyball and of course tennis. Went down to the beach and Lee Bay several times – beautiful. Visited Woody Bay – a long way down, but fantastic tidal pool and waterfall. Arlington Court is utterly beautiful with plenty to do (especially dressing up) and recommend delicious fish & chips from Starfish in Barnstaple. Fantastic holiday, thank you.
We planned an escape to Lee and Chapel Cottage to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and give our souls some much needed balm. It has been 2 years since we were last here, but Chapel Cottage retains its special spirit and I can feel all the clinging tensions of life and work floating away, just walking in to the kitchen on the first day. We have had a wonderful holiday, a real ‘second honeymoon’.
Beautiful house, fabulous location – LOVE IT! Perfect place for 50th birthday get together. Our first time here after spotting and photographing the cottage many years ago. We will be back.
A great time has been enjoyed at Chapel Cottage. We loved the atmosphere and the delightful setting and of course the lovely cottage garden obviously so loved. We also made use of the tennis court encouraging the children to pick up tennis. Oh! Did I leave out the beach, the smugglers coves, no words can express the joy we had down there. Thank you so much for letting us stay at Chapel Cottage.
A lovely four days at Chapel Cottage given to me by my wonderful family, as a 60th birthday treat! Beautiful surroundings and some lovely sunshine, what more could you want – Perfect!
Beautiful weather allowing lots of walks, tennis, rock pool explorations and most excitingly 1yr old Lila’s first splash in the sea at Woolacombe. Hope to return next year with our expanding brood.
Sun, (when it graced us with its presence) wine, chats, beach, gorgeous surroundings, ‘moments’ in the kitchen……ALL PERFECTION. Thanks so much Chapel Cottage”
The house sits in three acres of managed wilderness, mown meadow, spreading camellias, flourishing figs (spellbinding in that special haze as the sun filters through the sea mist) with a secluded patio, a double swing seat, and, behind a screen of trees, a tennis court. And the interior seems deliciously old-fashioned – a rare treat these days, when all is leather and chrome and white and predictable.
Chapel Cottage is located on the North Devon coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The postcode is EX34 8LR.
